WeatherBug is named “Hot Site” by USA TODAY

Washington, D.C.  AWS Convergence Technologies, Inc. is pleased to announce that WeatherBug was named a "Hot Site" in today's edition of USATODAY.com, a free and popular news service on the worldwide web.

"We look daily for Web sites that are likely to be sure hits with readers -- sites that seek to astound and delight, inform or amuse -- by exhibiting something remarkable in graphics, content or both," said USA Today Technology Editor, Sam Meddis, "

"We are thrilled that WeatherBug has been named a "Hot Site," said President and CEO Bob Marshall, "especially when one considers that the USA Today Technology Editors see the best of the best websites everyday."

A free desktop tool that turns PCs into personal weather centers, WeatherBug is the web's only source for LIVE, neighborhood conditions, forecasts and immediate storm warnings and alerts. WeatherBug displays the current local temperature clearly, but unobtrusively, in the WindowsTM System Tray next to the clock. Clicking on the temperature triggers a full-screen display of real-time weather conditions and warnings as well as web cams, radar, and more.

To see WeatherBug at "Hot Sites," go to http://www.usatoday.com/life/cyber/cyber1.htm and click the "Web Guide" button. Readers may also want to watch for WeatherBug in and upcoming issue of USA TODAY's "New and Notable" column, featured in the Thursday Life section.

WeatherBug has achieved 2 million downloads since its release last April and was ranked the sixth "stickiest site" on the web by Nielsen/Net Ratings in August. The popular real-time weather site achieves a monthly average visit time of 2 hours, 50 minutes for home users - more than five times longer than typical web sites.

Schools and businesses can join the AWS Online Weather Network as weather station partners by purchasing a weather station and subscribing to the WeatherBug Network. AWS manufactures a state-of-the-art, commercial grade weather system that measures and delivers live weather conditions from your location. Find out how you can purchase a weather system and how you can then become a member of the WeatherBug Network.
