AWS Announces Live Weather from the Olympic Games in Nagano, Japan

is pleased to announce that KPIX-TV has installed an AWS AirWatch weather system at Shinonoi Nishi JHS in Nagano, Japan. The AirWatch system is a fully automated weather station that provides live, local weather conditions. The KPIX-TV site in Nagano is directly connected to the Internet, allowing up-to-the-second weather conditions to be featured on the web.

AWS applauds the pioneering efforts of KPIX-TV to bring this unique live, local weather resource to the KPIX-TV viewers, web browsers worldwide, and to the educators participating in AWS' exclusive Worldwide School Weather Network.
AWS partners with more than 100 US television stations to provide live, local weather conditions through TV newscasts and Internet web pages. There are currently more than 2,000 AWS AirWatch systems installed and operational worldwide.
